Common Concerns
What if my child becomes ill?

Our associates maintain ongoing relationships with medical personnel in every destination, so that these medical personnel can be brought in to address any situation that may arise. We also maintain 24-hour staff coverage in our program office during the summer so we can notify you immediately if your child becomes severely ill. In addition, all of our teacherlLeaders who journey with the delegations are required to have current CPR certification.

The Student Ambassador journey begins long before departure.

You and your child will attend six two-hour orientation meetings to prepare during the months before the delegation embarks on the Student Ambassador journey.

In addition to learning the details of the journey and the destination, your family will meet fellow delegates and their families. You will get to know your area delegation leaders and observe how they supervise the delegates. For many Student Ambassadors, lifelong friendships begin at the very first meeting.

Count on these informative, interactive orientation meetings to help you:
  • Learn about the culture and history of your child's destination.
  • Find out just what to pack.
  • Review all air and land travel details.
  • Answer any other questions you or your child may have about the journey.
  • Meet delegation leaders and see them in action.
